The best time for surfing in Nicaragua is May thru early December, which is when the most south swells hit Nicaragua’s Pacific coast.

The walk is over flat terrain, unlike many other Nicaragua vacation rentals where you will have to hike up a steep hill after your session. Access to the Playa Colorado and Panga Drops surf breaks is limited to guests staying in the Hacienda Iguana Golf & Beach Club (where the Nicaragua Surf Condos are located) and charted surf boats. Playa Colorado (walking access)
This river mouth beach break is one of the most coveted surf spots in Nicaragua. Although it is typically a left, Playa Colorado has been known to bring in some of the most incredible barreling rights. No matter the size of swell hitting Nicaragua, Playa Colorado packs a good punch and can hold swells ranging from waist high up to double overhead. This break is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the Nicaragua Surf Condos.

Panga Drops (walking access)
This A-frame rock / beach break is also one of the most coveted surf spots in Nicaragua, and will hold swell in the same range as Playa Colorado and even bigger, up to triple overhead. This break is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Nicaragua Surf Condos, and a straight paddle out from the beach club house and pool.
